Mothers Milk x Chop Suey Club

Chop Suey Club is a concept store in Chinatown that explores contemporary Chinese and Asian-American culture through design, fashion, and community. The space is known for its curation of independent designers, its art-forward aesthetic, and its love of Mahjong—hosting weekly game nights and offering a rentable Mahjong room nestled in the back of the shop.

For this collaboration, we wanted to create something special for Mother's Milk. With my Filipino heritage, Mahjong has always been a part of my cultural background—cards clacking, aunties laughing, rose perfume and talc in the air. Chop Suey’s Mahjong events instantly felt like home.

Together, we created a limited-edition wax melt set using Chop Suey's Mahjong ice molds: sculptural pieces designed with intimacy and memory in mind.

All-natural wax melts shaped like Mahjong tiles, made from soy and beeswax
Scented simply with orris root and rose—soft, familiar, and unpretentious.
Paired with a ceramic wax burner (hand-thrown in California) and a single unscented tea light candle.

Each gift set was individually hand-wrapped in cotton gauze and tied with red string, with a sprig of dried baby’s breath tucked in—a gesture of quiet offering.

Made in small batches on the Lower East Side exclusively for Chop Suey Club.
